Protecting Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from 1 (One) to 120 (One Hundred and Twenty) years old, Zurich Syariah offers hundreds of millions of protection benefits
Jakarta, June 26, 2023 – Due to the high demand for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in 2023 and in line with the additional congregation quota announced by the Ministry of Religious Affair (Kemenag), PT Zurich General Takaful Indonesia (Zurich Sharia) introduces Zurich Syariah Travel Insurance Hajj and Umrah Packages for a wider range of ages - ranging from 1 (one) year old to 120 (one hundred and twenty) years old.
By choosing Zurich Syariah Travel Insurance Hajj and Umrah Packages, customers can obtain protection for Hajj and Umrah trips from departure until returning home, a period of up to 60 (sixty) days. This protection of Zurich Syariah Travel Insurance Hajj and Umrah Packages covers common issues such as flight or baggage delays as well as specific needs for pilgrims, such as personal belongings cover with protection for zam-zam water packages and access to a Halal trip directory.
There are other benefits for customers, including payment of medical expenses for pre-existing diseases within a certain value and extending benefits for the risk of COVID-19. What’s more, the contribution rates that customers can choose start from as little as IDR 25,000 per week and can give benefits of up to IDR 100.000.000 (one hundred million rupiah).
Hilman Simanjuntak, President Director of PT Zurich Sharia, said, “We believe that insurance coverage should be tailored to customers’ needs and affordable for everyone. Given the significant number of elderly Indonesian hajj and umrah pilgrims, we are confident that this package with a wider age range and affordable contribution costs will gain a positive response from people. We hope that customers perform their worship with peace of mind with the protection of Zurich Sharia.”
In 2022, the Hajj and Umrah travel insurance packages increased significantly compared to the previous year, with growth reaching 20.9 %, while contribution to the Gross Written Premium increased by 31,6 %. This increase was primarily driven by the substantial increase in Indonesian pilgrims in 2022. This is because the government of Saudi Arabia resumed granting pilgrimage permits following the pandemic.
“This year, we are dedicated to strengthening the sharia market in Indonesia while continuing to educate the market on the values and principles of sharia insurance. We are grateful for the customer's trust in the 2023 Hajj season, where 63% of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have used Zurich Syariah Travel insurance.” Hilman concluded.
Zurich Sharia Travel Insurance in general offers extensive protection for both international and domestic travel, with flexible package options tailored to their needs. Apart from the Hajj and Umrah packages, there are other insurance packages from Zurich Sharia Travel Insurance that are available for easy online purchase through travellin.co.id.
