Insurance companies are increasingly expected to be able to use their main capabilities in helping people and communities to be stronger in dealing with interrelated risks. The premiums we invest in the capital market can also help finance various businesses and projects that are important to the community.

Investment for Community

• Investing in the community are the core of Zurich's sustainable strategy. Through investment from the Zurich Foundation as well as from our local offices around the world, we share our resources and expertise to help build strong communities and add value to our core business activities.
• Investing in the community is also a very important part of our company's employee-connecting strategy. In addition, the knowledge and experience gained by employees through this program also helps our company in creating products and services that can produce better results for consumers. As an insurance company, we are also committed to helping the community in order to reduce the possibility of flooding. By working together with our flood resilience alliance, Zurich Indonesia is able to secure many lives and consumer livelihoods, so that the future and people are protected despite floods.

• Zurich Indonesia is committed to supporting society and its business, as well as directing new steps in working and responding to each changing customer interest through a flexible work model and maximizing the potential of employees through re-skilling and up-skilling processes.
• Zurich Indonesia believes in improving the lives of employees through the initiation of work and life balance, such as providing flexibility for employees to design their medical coverage based on needs and fostering social relationships virtually or in small groups through regular activities.

Zurich Entrepreneurship Program

• Zurich Indonesia and Z Zurich Foundation, in collaboration with Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI), are running the Zurich Entrepreneurship Program. The program aims to empower more than 9,000 high school students in Indonesia to establish 50 new businesses within three years starting from 2022. This collaboration creates opportunities for the nation's youth to develop entrepreneurial skills, gain practical knowledge from experienced professionals, and embark on the path to success in the business world.

Mangrove Tree Planting

• As a form of concern for the environment, Zurich Indonesia planted 800 mangrove trees in Muara Tawar, Bekasi. This activity was participated by nearly 400 employees and business partners. Mangroves play a crucial role in coastal ecology, protecting and securing coastal communities, as well as reducing the impacts of coastal erosion, storms, and floods. Mangroves are also one of the most cost-effective methods for managing disaster risks along the coastline. One mangrove tree can absorb more than 1 million tons of carbon during its 20-year lifespan.

Cleanup Planet

• In celebration of Climate Month, Zurich Indonesia organized Cleanup Planet activities in 12 cities in Indonesia with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of good waste management. More than 200 Zurich employees went to various locations to clean up on September 21-23, 2023. Here are the locations for each city:

  • Surabaya: Old Kenjeran Beach Surabaya

Badui Tree Planting

• Zurich has a program to plant 1.500 trees, and one of them was carried out in Badui, Banten on September 16, 2023. The types of trees planted were Durian Monthong and Durian Musang King with the hope that these trees can bear fruit and provide economic value to the community in the future. Throughout 2023, Zurich Indonesia has conducted four tree plantations in Badui, Lebak.

Zurich Posyandu

• Zurich Indonesia collaborates with the Z Zurich Foundation to support the government program in addressing stunting in toddlers, providing nutritional assistance, posyandu equipment, and nutritional education to over 500 toddlers, aiming to reduce the stunting rate. Our employees also actively volunteer in Posyandu activities to monitor and educate mothers of toddlers.

Blood Donation

• Zurich Indonesia partners with Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) to regularly organize blood donation activities every quarter. More than 100 employees become donors, supporting a safe and adequate blood supply. Zurich is committed to making a positive contribution to the welfare of society, as well as shaping a caring and empathetic work environment.
